Brodyn is 9 years old. She has been my bird since December 2014. Her previous owners always assumed she was a boy. Well 8 days ago she laid her first egg!! SURPRISE! It’s a girl haha. She appeared to be egg bound with the second egg so today we spent 3 1/2 hours at the vet on a weekend emergency vet visit $$$. Exam and blood work done. I chose to take her home and keep an eye on her. If she didn’t pass the egg within 48 hours or her condition became worse I was to take her back to the emergency vet. 20 minutes after we got home she laid the egg! (Of course right lol). I was so relieved and was lucky enough to get it on video! 🙂 (Yes she does pluck her feathers. We are working on that)
EDIT March 2nd 2016. Brodyn ended up laying 11 eggs between March-July 2015. So far no eggs since then…
A very tiny example of my parrot talking. He says complete sentences at the right times however it is hard to capture these unexpected moments. He is a Male African Grey Parrot. He loves to sit in his perch in my Sunroom in the day time when its not very hot because he can look outside through the glass. He is 11 years old. Please share it with others who love animals.
Queenie is chillin on the couch, watching Netflix and eating. Typical female 🙂 And yes, that is Sir William yelling in the background, being jelly pants because it wasn’t his turn for treats. Follow us on Instagram @Parrot_Sir_William
