Considering parrots because mum won't allow small birds in the house. Asked what bird I would be allowed and she didn't hesitate in saying "African Grey". Her mother used to have one (mischievous little rat!) and she's African herself, so it's definitely familiarity, but it didn't stop me thinking of apollo
